Health
We remove the dew claws when they are very young. All puppies are wormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks of age. At 6 weeks they are taken to the vet for a well-puppy check so we know they are all healthy. They get their first shots at that time too, using Duramune Max 5.
Care
The puppies nurse from their mother for about the first five weeks of their life, then they start to wean onto puppy food. We feed them Purina Puppy Chow Complete, in the blue bag, which can be found at places like Menards, Ace, Lewis, and Fleet Farm. This is a transition starter food and puppies will need to change to a “Large Breed” puppy food which they should be on till they are 1 year old. We often use Purina Large Breed Puppy or Diamond Puppy.
We keep the puppies and mom in our shed. It is insulated, heated, and cooled so they are comfortable in any weather. Mom has a chance to get out and exercise while the puppies stay safely in the whelping box until they are old enough to join her outside.

Delivery
We have some people come out to the farm and pick out their puppy at 4-5 weeks of age when they start showing more personality. Others decide to pick the puppy up when it’s able to go home with them, at 7 weeks. Our puppies always go directly from our family to yours!
If we have enough interested people from Northern MN area or Fargo area, we would be willing to deliver part-way. We meet people in Mankato more often.
Color
Our lab puppies will be lighter in color, like their parents. That coloring for a Labrador Retriever is called ivory, but is commonly referred to as white as well. We have some litters of Goldador puppies which will vary in color from lighter to darker! Goldadors have one parent as a Golden Retriever and one parent as a Labrador. We also have chocolate labs with our stud Woody and some black Goldadors at times. Our Golden Retriever puppies are a mix of light and dark as well as our Golden Retriever parents have beautiful colored coats!
